Ms. Scholz grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida and graduated from the University of South Florida in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. She has served as the Director of Bands at River Ridge High School since August 2022. As a lifelong “band kid,” her passion for music education comes from the belief that the experiences students gain through music extend far beyond the rehearsal room and performance field.

Since taking over the program, Ms. Scholz has worked to build a culture centered around excellence, commitment, inclusion, and opportunity. Her mission is to provide students with meaningful musical experiences that challenge them to grow as performers, leaders, and individuals. Under her leadership, the program has earned numerous Superior ratings at Florida Bandmasters Association events, as well as top placements, awards, and medal-winning performances at local and national marching and music competitions. These accomplishments reflect not only the students’ musical growth, but also the dedication, discipline, pride, and passion they bring to every rehearsal and performance.

Beyond the classroom, Ms. Scholz is a strong advocate for her students and program. Through community outreach, fundraising, and relationship building, with the help of the River Ridge High School Band Boosters, she has worked to secure grant funding and donations that expand opportunities for students and strengthen the program’s resources. She is committed to ensuring that any student willing to work hard and show dedication has access to meaningful music education experiences.
